Engine tuning, or "Crypton tuning" as it more commonly known, is a recognised means to getting your engine back to the way the manufacturer intended.
For many years, cars were fitted with Carburettors, points, condensors, distributors and so on. Modern cars have done away with all these in favour of electronic engine management systems.
We can adjust the settings on many of the older vehicles which would include, amongst other things, adjusting the points gap, setting the ignition timing, adjusting the mixture and slow running speed of the engine via the carburettor.
Some of the earlier fuel injected cars can still be Crypton Tuned, only the later fully computerised vehicles have no adjustments possible.
